Chief's Message

Message from the Chief:
Greetings! The proud men and women of the Town of Manchester Fire-Rescue-EMS Department welcome you to our website. We are pleased to provide this website as another tool to offer valuable information to the citizens and visitors of Manchester.
Our Fire Department has 77 uniformed career and 3 civilian support personnel ready to serve you in a courteous and professional manner.  We are an all-risk Fire Department, proudly providing services in Fire Prevention, Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services (Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support), Specialized Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Public Education and Disaster Mitigation.  We respond to over 7,500 calls for service annually. There is nothing more important to us than the community we serve and we are dedicated to providing the highest level of service and making a difference in the lives of the people living in and visiting Manchester.
We believe in community based fire services, the practice of having firefighters involved in many community activities and events both on and off duty. You'll see our people at Manchester High School & Manchester Midget football games as well as in the Memorial Day parade, at the Thanksgiving Day Road Race, Heritage Day events, Cruisin' on Main and the annual Dutch Fogarty Fourth of July celebration. We encourage our community to get to know our firefighters by personally visiting any of our five fire stations. See for yourself the technology, equipment and personnel that form the backbone of this exceptional organization. I particularly recommend a visit to our Fire Station #5 at 331 Tolland Turnpike. Manchester firefighters designed, built and maintain a moving Fallen Fire Fighters Memorial Garden. It's absolutely a must see attraction in Manchester.
After viewing our website, you will no doubt see that we are a professional department dedicated to responding to the needs of our citizens and all those who visit Manchester. If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding your Fire Department, I urge you to contact me directly. I can be reached by telephone [(860) 647-3266] or by email

Thank you for visiting us on the web.  Come back soon and often!
